A story of transformation and evolution
The begining
I started YogaMultimedia after going through a spiritual transformation that was resolved by the power of a 300-hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher certification program offered by KRI and IKYTA in Mexico. The journey continued supported by immersions in Sat Nam Rasayan, Yantra Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and Vipassana Meditation.
As a visual and music artist, it was natural to make art part of my yoga. I was part of a multidisciplinary art collective and operating a branding agency when I became a yoga teacher. That is why I named my yoga enterprise YogaMultimedia.

The Mayan Riviera
a cosmic alignment
In 2009, I moved to Tulum. There I continued adding certified hours to my education. 500 hrs with Renee DeTar from the Institute of Interdisciplinary Yoga Studies; 50 hrs with Duncan Wong in Houston; 45 hrs of Yoga Therapy for Backs with David McAmmond in Mexico City; plus dozens of hours more in Ashtanga Yoga with David Williams, and Jivamukti Yoga with Yogeswari in Playa del Carmen.
2009 - 2015 is a period of time often referred to as 'when Tulum was Tulum,' it was disputing the title of 'yoga capital of the world', and it is when I had the privilege to teach at most of the almost mythical yoga shalas all long the Riviera Maya and to manage the yoga program at the most spectacular one in Las Ranitas Tulum.
Kalam Balam
the origin
As a red-belt taekwondoka, and transitioning into yoga to restore from the aikido practice, I found natural to blur the boundaries between martial arts and vinyasa yoga from the early stages of my asana practice.
It was in Tulum that Kalam Balam found its name and platform. I presented it as a practice consisting of a series of martial arts/mobility/vinyasa flows inspired by the animals in the Mayan jungle. The system integrates breath-work and meditation techniques combined with drumming, throat singing, and sound healing, taking it to a ceremonial dimension.

Signature YOGA RETREATS

Guests kept consistently highlighting my classes in their reviews. The reason why, in 2012, Pauline Clegg, the visionary entrepreneur and core pioneer of wellness tourism, founder of R&R Resorts, commissioned me to offer 2 annual signature yoga retreats for the Maya Tulum brand. The resort, where the world's most iconic yoga teachers were paying to host their annual retreats, asked me to create a series of retreats for them.
I designed the program to promote the local Maya culture among visitors and support the local economy outside the resort. Retreats included 2 cultural visits together with Mayan Astrology assets, and lectures. Accompanied by local musicians and dance performers, the retreats included an open-to-the-public kirtan concert facilitating a spiritual exchange between locals and visitors and supporting Tulum's local art scene.

Along all these years, I'v had the fortune to collaborate with amazing creators and visionaries, colleagues and wellness revolutionaries delivering transformational and magical experiences in natural sites, yoga studios and resorts around 3 continents.
I've guest appearances at Balnea Spa's and Davidji's retreats, and the Sun Sun Love Festival as yoga teacher.

Teacher Training CERTIFICATIONS
the Yoga School
YogaMultimedia became a Yoga Alliance registered yoga school in 2016, offering its first destination yoga teacher training certification in Sayulita, México welcoming Caroline Allen to the core team who added her expertise in project management, pedagogy and the Ayurvedic science.
In 2017, YogaMultimedia was commissioned to design the curricula for and to lead and deliver an advanced 300 hr teacher training for Honor Yoga, one of the largest yoga studio franchises in the US, to certify the founder, and some of the yoga teachers, and studio owners as RYT500.
YogaMultimedia has also collaborated with curricula, lectures and certified hours, online and in person at teacher training certifications lead by Yoga Bohemia NJ studios and Awakened Life School of Yoga.
