Recommendations for your visit:

  • Soliman Bay is a secluded residential beach in Tulum, which makes it very safe, however don't leave your belongings unattended when you are on the beach. There is a single safety box available for all members of the retreat, big enough just to keep the most important valuables guarded as passports and money, so we recommend not to bring valuable jewelry or any other valuable possessions that are not absolutely necessary.

  • There is wifi at the villa, but we encourage you to use this retreat also as a tech-detox. From time to time signal can get slow or interrupted according to weather conditions and service providers.

  • Staff members and locals on their majority speak English and would also be happy to help you practice your Spanish.

  • Some establishments are cash only or wifi conditions eventually may not allow them to take credit cards. Our recommendation is to exchange some of your money into Mexican pesos before you depart your country or at your arrival. Once in México you'll find the best rates at the exchange houses outside the airport. You will also find that many places would accept the US dollar but don't expect a good rate in exchange. ATM's in the airport or inside the local supermarket in Tulum town would be more recommended to withdraw some money as those in the Hotel strip are not reliable. In terms of spending money, we’d recommend allotting $50 a day, or perhaps a bit more if you plan to shop.

  • The villa is provided with bottled water since tab water is best not to drink.

  • The local guides are committed to protect the environment and they will require you to use organic or biodegradable sunscreen and sunblock. Mosquitos in the beach can be annoying around sunrise and sunset and for this matter we highly recommend to bring insect repellent with you.

  • Hat, snickers, sunglasses, pareo, sandals, light pants and light long sleeve tops are always a good idea to bring. It will be summer in Tulum this time of the year, weather tend to be sunny and hot, with occasional showers, but some weeks can there be plenty of rain. Hopefully not the week of this retreat.

Packing List:
